How Does It Work?
Active ingredients in this deodorant that work together to prevent and neutralize odor include:
- Magnesium hydroxide (food grade) – a form of magnesium derived from magnesium-rich mineral, from hydration of magnesium oxide, or from precipitation of seawater; its antimicrobial actions are believed to be responsible for neutralizing human body odor. Magnesium also plays important roles in cardiovascular health, bone health, brain + nervous system health, DNA repair mechanisms, anti-inflammatory defense, and wound healing (see References)
- Bentonite clay (cosmetic grade) – naturally occurring volcanic rock ash that: absorbs moisture; has been shown to help heal dermatitis, rashes, and wounds; has also demonstrated antimicrobial and antiviral activity, showing a 99.99% adsorption rate of bovine coronavirus and a 78.74 - 99.89% adorption rate of bovine rotavirus, as one example (see References)
- Organic arrowroot – a vegetable root that helps absorb water content
Other ingredients that offer supportive action include:
- Organic kokum butter – derived from the Garcinia indica evergreen tree; demonstrated to offer antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidepressant, and anti-anxiolytic benefits (see References)
- Organic jojoba oil – has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal activity
- Organic beeswax – another natural antimicrobial & anti-inflammatory agent – also valuable in wound healing
How to Apply
Apply to underarms to avoid and/or neutralize odor.
If you are newly transitioning from a different deodorant or from commercial antiperspirants, allow your body chemistry a few weeks to adjust to a different mechanism of preventing and neutralizing underarm odor.
If you are allergy-prone, we advise noting the ingredient list first and doing a small patch-test before using on the whole body.
