Unlike our Tallow Face Food - Original, this Tinted Sunscreen formula additionally includes mild sunscreen and natural tinting agents (see below).

1. High oxidative stability
Each of our base oils have been known for having higher tolerance to daytime heat and sunlight before degrading from free radical damage, in comparison to most seed oils (see References). Good news for supporting youthful-appearing skin!
2. Gentle everyday UVA & UVB sunscreen
Both calendula flower infusions as well as the non-nano zinc oxide mineral offer sun protection, with calendula blocking UVB light and non-nano zinc oxide blocking both UVA & UVB light (see References). We call this formula a "gentle" or "mild" sunscreen because it contains 38% of the amount of non-nano zinc oxide that we use in our whole body mineral sunscreen (available HERE), which is designed for more intense sunlight exposure.
3. Camouflage, translucent tint made from organic, food-grade ingredients
For when you don't want to look like a 90's lifeguard with glaring white smears of sunscreen on your face! Tint from organic carob and organic beetroot is subtle and translucent, and reduces the bright whiteness of the primary sunscreen agent, non-nano zinc oxide (this formula does not offer opaque makup coverage).
4. Nourishing ingredients that skin quickly drinks up
Organic jojoba oil, organic kokum buttter, and calendula flower-infused grass-fed, pasture-raised beef tallow all offer a wealth of health benefits (see below) while providing a thin, silky sensation of skin conditioning – perfect for non-heavy daytime moisturization and for layering underneath makeup.
5. Non-pore-clogging base oils
We only include base oils in our facial products that are known to have what's referred to as a "low comedogenic rating," or a low likelihood of clogging pores and/or causing skin irritation (see References).

Nourishing Ingredients to Feed Your Face Every Day
Base oils that make up Tallow Face Food are not only quickly absorbed by the skin for a light daytime conditioning treatment – but they also deliver a highly nutritious "meal" for your highly absorbing facial skin (see References):
- Organic jojoba oil – has high resistance to degradation and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects; it's also recognized for its skin repair benefits and potential therapeutic uses against skin infections and skin aging
- Organic kokum butter – is derived from the Garcinia indica evergreen tree; has demonstrated antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antidepressant, and anti-anxiolytic benefits
- Grass-fed, pasture-raised beef tallow – offers anti-inflammatory support, antioxidants glutathione & superoxide dismutase, omega-3 fatty acids, precursors to vitamins A & E
- Calendula flower (infusions) – reduces inflammation; protects against & heals from sun (UVB) damage; offers antioxidant activity that fights aging; speeds up wound healing; has been demonstrated to calm certain cases of dermatitis; increases skin hydration, skin collagen, and skin "tightness"
Suggested Use
Apply to clean face + neck for nourishing daytime hydration and mild sunscreen. Translucent tint reduces whiteness of sunscreen agent, non-nano zinc oxide.
